Aphria Inc is a Canadian pharmaceutical company specialized in the production of cannabis, the company is considered to be one of the largest companies in the world when it comes to the cannabis Industry. Aphiria’s total market capitalization is estimated to be 1.2 billion dollars as of 2020.

Aphiria was founded in 2014 in Canada back in 2014 by Cole Cacciavillani and John Cervini, both were greenhouse operators in Leamington, the former CEO of the company is Vic Neufeld and its current interim CEO is Simon D Irwin.

Aphiria received the license to produce and sell medical cannabis in 2014 through Health Canada (the governmental department of Health in Canada), the company’s first sale was on 2015. Also, in 2015, Aphiria announced that they will double their production by doubling their greenhouses.

In 2017, Aphiria announced that they will start to expand their business into the United States, and in 2018, the company took over both Broken Coast Cannabis, a Vancouver Island cannabis producer and Nuuvera, a Brampton-based cannabis company.

In 2019, Aphiria’s main campus, names Aphiria One, was licensed by Health Canada to run a 1.1 million square foot greenhouse in Leamington for the purpose of producing cannabis, the whole process is automated and the site is capable of producing about 110 tons of cannabis annually. Aphiria is currently constructing a new campus with the name Aphiria Diamond, which is estimated to produce 120 tons of cannabis annually.

Aphiria is currently operating in Canada, USA, Germany, Italy and many countries in South America, the company saw net income in 2018 of 29.5 million Canadian Dollars out of its total revenue of 36.9 million Canadian Dollars, the company is listed in both Toronto Stock Exchange and New York Stock Exchange.

The current price for Aphiria’s shares in New York Stock Exchange market is 4.66 USD with a -3.12% to its value, in the Toronto Stock Exchange market, the share price is 6.19 CAD (Canadian Dollar) with a -2.06% to its value.
